I. Job SummaryThis position reports to the Gas Operations Manager and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS). The GCCS consists of a series of extraction points known as gas wells, interconnected via piping. The collected gas is transported using gas conveyance equipment (such as a fan or blower). Landfill gas (LFG) collected by this extraction system from the landfill’s wellfield is combusted within a flare or gas to energy plant. Proper operation of the GCCS is required to comply with various State and Federal environmental regulations. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The individual must have the ability to work independently without direct supervision. An individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and vary by location.
Properly operate and maintain landfill gas collection systems on a timely and cost-effective basis to achieve performance standards
Properly tune and balance the gas collection system wellheads using an electronic device
Daily Preventative Maintenance
Routine Blower / Flare Operations
Condensate Management System Maintenance
Liquid Level Measurements in Gas Extraction Wells
Pneumatic Pump Cleaning / Maintenance
HDPE Pipe Fusing/PVC Coupling
Monitor perimeter probes
Develop and maintain operating records using written or computer/electronic methods
Troubleshoots and corrects landfill gas extraction systems when necessary

Valid and unrestricted driver’s license C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner
Good communication skills; can effectively communicate operating issues to management
Good follow through ability
