Starting Wage: 3rd Year 80% and 4th Year 90% of Journeyman rate of $42.87/hour
Shift: Monday to Thursday 1 pm – 930 pm and Friday 12 pm – 830 pm
I. Job Summary
Under direct supervision, assists Mechanic with basic repair and maintenance duties.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Assists mechanics with repairs.
Carries tools and equipment to and from storage and working areas.
Performs oil changes and lubes trucks.
Performs PM services on trucks.
Performs tire changes.
Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory duties.

Education: None Required
Experience: Relative work experience (in addition to education requirement).
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
Valid driver’s license and must have a clean driving record.
3rd or 4th Year apprentice in one of the following trades;
Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic (BC, NU, SK),
Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic (Construction) (QC),
Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic (Non-Construction) (QC),
Heavy Equipment Service Technician (NB),
Heavy Equipment Technician (NT),
Heavy Equipment Technician - Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic (Off Road) (AB)
Heavy Equipment Technician (AB),
Heavy Equipment Technician - Truck and Transport Mechanic (AB),
Truck and Transport Mechanic (MB, SK)
Commercial Transport Vehicle Mechanic (BC),
Heavy Equipment Technician - Truck and Transport Mechanic (NT),
Truck and Coach Technician (ON),
Truck and Transport Service Technician (NB),
Truck and Transport Technician (YT)
